He previously completed a fellowship in obstetric anaesthesia, also at Mayo Clinic, Rochester MN. Hans Sviggum MD is a consultant in anesthesiology and perioperative medicine at Mayo Clinic and associate professor of anesthesiology at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. He is the director of obstetric anesthesiology at Mayo Clinic. His major clinical and research interests are labour analgesic techniques and perioperative nerve injury.
