Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of hemoperfusion for neonatal hyperbilirubinamia. Methods Nineteen patients of neonatal hyperbilirubinamia in our hospital from Jan 2007 to Dec 2008 received the treatment with HA neutral macroporous resin(HA230) hemoperfusion and medical treatment.Symptoms, signs and levels of liver function, complete blood counts were compared before and after treatment.Adverse reaction of hemoperfusion was also monitored. Results After hemoperfusion, the symptoms and signs were improved in certain degrees. The levels of total bilirubin, indirect bilirubin, direct bilirubin, platelet and iCa2+decreased significantly compared with those before hemoperfusion(P0.05).There were no significant differences in the levels of erythrocyte, leukocyte,K+,Na+ and blood glucose before and after hemoperfusion(P0.05).No adverse effect occurred in the whole process of hemoperfusion. Conclusion Hemoperfusion is an effective and safe therapy for neonatal hyperbilirubinamia.
