Preparation of styrene-acrylic emulsion with core-shell structure

The styrene-acrylate emulsion with core-shell structure was prepared by seed emulsion and pre-emulsification technology,taking styrene(St),buty-lacrylate(BA),methyl methacrylate(MMA),acrylic acid(AA) as copolymerization monomers,using alkylphenols polyoxyethylene(OP-10) and sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS) as emulsifiers and potassium persulfate as initiator.The effects of emulsifiers,initiator and AA on the emulsion performance were researched.The optimum conditions of the polymerization are:MMA ∶BA ∶St ∶AA=14 ∶25 ∶16 ∶2,the amount of emulsifiers 3.2%,the amount of initiator 0.35%～0.42%,reaction temperature 80 ℃.
