摘要
This chapter presents two case histories of patients suffering from congenital abnormalities of the genital tract. The first case relates to a 13-year-old girl suffering from worsening dysmenorrhea. On examination a pelvic mass is identified. The second case relates to a 16-year-old girl suffering from primary amenorrhea. On perineal inspection it was noticed that the vagina is short and blind-ending. Congenital abnormalities of the genital tract, often known as Mullerian anomalies, are considered to be any anomaly that may occur in the Mullerian duct. Failure of the normal development of the Mullerian ducts may result in a bicornuate uterus, a complete uterus didelphys, or a persisting longitudinal uterine or vaginal septum. The chapter discusses the management of various types of congenital abnormalities such as obstructive anomalies, vaginal agenesis, uterine agenesis, uterine septa, and vaginal septa.
