The effects of stitching yarns on the stitching process and performance of Preoriented warp-knitted fabrics were investigated by using glass/polyester stitching yarns and different stitch structures. The results have shown:(1) Glass fiber can be used as stitching yarn, with 33.3% higher strength after stitching than that of polyester yarn.(2) Glass fiber stitching yarn can improve the impregnation of fabrics by resin, which results in the reduction of void content and the enhancement of tensile and shear properties of final composite materials.3) The different stitch structures have significant effects on the mechanical properties of composites. When glass fiber stitching yarn is used, tricot stitch provides 7.97% higher warp-wise tensile strength and about 5% higher flexural strength of composites than those provided by pillar stitch.
