Objective:To explore the efficacy and safety of Seroxat and Amitriptylinein the treatment of depression.Methods:Fifty eight patients with depression were recruited in the study,thirty patients was treated with Seroxat and twenty eight patients with Chlorimipramine.The therapy persisted in eight weeks.Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HAMD),Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale(HAMA),Clinical Global Impression(CGI) and Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale(TESS) were used for assessment of therapeutic efficacy and side effects.Results:(1) The Scale of HAMD and HAMA of two groups decreased significantly after treatment(P0.05).(2)The decreasing radio of HAMD and HAMA score between two group was significant different at any time point from the first weekend after treatment(P0.05).(3) CGI score was significant different(P0.05).(4)TESS showed Seroxat had less side effects than Chlorimipramine(P0.05).Conclusions: Seroxat is of good efficacy,rapid action,high safety and less side effects in treating patients with depression.
