Effects of Basketball Skill Based Drills Practice with Aerobic Training on Leg Explosive Power of Basketball Players

The purpose of the study is to find out the effects of Basketball skill based drills practice with aerobic training on Leg Explosive Power of Basketball players. For this study forty five male Basketball players from CCS University, Meerut have been selected at random as subjects. The age of the selected subjects was ranged from 18 to 21 years. The selected groups were separated into two experimental groups and a control group. In the experimental group I (N=15, Basketball Skill based drills training group), experimental group II (N=15, Basketball Skill based drills with aerobic training) and the group III (N=15, control group). In the study, two different training approaches were adopted as independent variables, i.e., Basketball Skill based drills training and Basketball Skill based drills with aerobic training. The Leg Explosive Power was chosen as a criterion variable. It was measured by Standing Broad Jump test and performance was recorded in meters with the help of measuring tape. The results revealed that selected both training programmes produced significantly improvements on Leg Explosive Power of male Basketball players from CCS University, Meerut.
