A PRÁTICA DA MEDICINA TRADICIONAL NO BRASIL: UM RESGATE HISTÓRICO DOS TEMPOS COLONIAIS

RESUMO : Por meio deste estudo, realizou-se um resgate historico da participacao dos principais grupos populacionais na difusao e construcao do conhecimento da medicina tradicional. A medicina tradicional brasileira teve sua construcao regida pela interacao de diversas praticas empiricas, como o uso de recursos naturais, atos religiosos e magia, ligadas as culturas indigena, europeia e africana. Dessa forma, afirma-se que o conjunto de saberes da medicina tradicional brasileira coexiste com o saber medico instituido pelo cientificismo, constituindo, assim, um patrimonio rico da historia humana e das ciencias humanas e de saude. The Practice of Traditional Medicine in Brazil: A Rescue Historic of Colonial Times ABSTRACT: With this study we performed a historical survey of the participation of relevant population groups in the dissemination and construction of knowledge of traditional medicine. The Brazilian traditional medicine had its construction guided by the interaction of many empirical practices such as the use of natural resources, religious ceremonies and magical practices, related to indigenous, European and African cultures. Therefore, it is stated that the body of knowledge of traditional Brazilian medicine coexists with medical knowledge instituted by scientism, thus constituting a rich heritage of human history and human and health sciences.
