Organic Photoredox‐Catalyzed S‐Difluoromethylation of Aromatic and Heteroaromatic Thiols: Advancing Thiol Functionalization

A visible light‐mediated difluoromethylation of (hetero)aromatic thiols is developed employing difluoromethanesulfonyl chloride as a cost‐effective source of difluoromethyl radical and the organophotocatalyst, 3DPAFIPN, to access a diverse range of products in excellent yields.
