A superelastic polymeric aerogel with ultrahigh fire resistance for thermal insulation in a harsh environment

A superelastic polymeric aerogel with ultrahigh fire-resistance (up to 1300 °C) was synthesized using a novel chemical crosslinking strategy. Superior mechanical properties and low release of combustion heat and smoke were realized.
