Dear Editor, We have reviewed many articles and found pain and pain-related anxiety prevalent problems during dressing change in burn victims in many countries. Many researchers aimed to find effective and uncomplicated complementary medicine methods to reduce these problems, and we encountered contradictory results. Despite confirming the effect of distraction-based interventions such as playing a video computer game and music interventions on pain and anxiety in burn patients in some previous studies,1,2 several studies showed that music relaxation technic, cartoon movie distraction, and relaxation response elicitation did not affect burn patients' pain and pain-related anxiety.3–5 This disagreement encouraged us to answer the following question: What is a suitable approach to alleviating pain and pain-related anxiety during dressing changes in burn victims?
