In order to investigate the efficiency of ciprofloxacin in clinical application and to overcome the shortcomings of the short half-life period that resulted in continuous medication, the long-acting preparation of compound ciprofloxacin emulsion was successfully developed by combining the technology of the oil-emulsion inactivated vaccine antigen release with drug emulsion preparation. That is the oil emulsion was made by mixed the ciprofloxacin and trimethoprim lactic acid with the ratio of 5∶1.Besides,properties and stability were also studied. The compound ciprofloxacin injection was used as the control group whereas five kinds of bacteria were used for in vitro antibacterial test. The results showed that the compound ciprofloxacin emulsion, which was in a primrose yellow, oil emulsion state with pH 6.3~6.6 and 7.6 μm average particle size, owed a good stability. The MIC and MBC values for five kinds bacteria of compound ciprofloxacin emulsion was significantly greater than that of compound ciprofloxacin injection(P0.01).
