A new carbonaceous catalyst was prepared from sludge of the municipal waste water treatment plant.The catalytic properties of the catalyst for NH_3 selective catalytic reduction(SCR) of NOx was investigated.The experimental results showed that NOx conversion of 98.3% was attained under the following condition:n(Zn)∶n(Fe)=1∶0.5,pyrolysis temperature 750 ℃,reaction temperature 400 ℃,oxygen concentration=15%.The catalyst samples were characterized by FTIR、TG、SEM and BET,which showed that the catalyst had abundant pore structures,active particles and surface functional groups,with surface area up to 307 m~2·g~(-1).
