Considerations in the diagnosis of radiation injury

Radiation injury develops in a small proportion of patients after therapeutic radiation. The key factors that influence the likelihood and character of these radiation sequelae are discussed in this article. Proper consideration of these points will lead to more accurate diagnosis and, hence, more effective patient management. (JAMA1981;245:1255-1258)
