Laser Ablation on Copper Fragments as a Function of Pulse Duration

Copper is well known for its extraordinary features to increase human immunity in warm weather places. To investigate those properties via nanoparticles, experiments were carried out on copper samples. The process of pulsed laser ablation in a liquid is used to obtain these nanoparticles, so it is extremely important to understand and study the physical mechanism of the laser ablation process. During the laser impact in the treatment area, there is a process of melting, evaporation of the substance, and into the water, these processes have their specifics different from laser ablation in air. As a result of the processing, the copper sample undergoes various structural changes related to the removal of the top layer at a certain specific depth. Therefore, different structural changes are analysed in the present study, with special attention paid to the analysis of the specific depth of laser ablation at different treatment regimens and different patterns. Based on the experimental studies, the amount of substance emitted from the ablation zone per unit time under the different technological regimes is also determined. Because each laser pulse has its characteristic pulse power. Pulse power is a function of pulse duration. This makes it necessary to study the changes in the ablation process with changes in the pulse duration in the range from 2μs to 50μs.
