This paper reports a study that investigates the different effects of pre-listening activities of 43 Chinese non-English majors by means of quantitative method.The subjects are randomly divided into 3 groups:the control group and experimental groups.The experimental groups read the new words and phrases and discussed the topics relating to the listening materials respectively,while the control group didn't do any pre-listening activities.The major finding is that pre-listening activities has some effect on listening comprehension.Teachers should choose different pre-listening activities according to different listening aims in listening classroom.
