Progress in studies of antioxidative mechanism of flavonoids extracted from Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi in tissue injury

The progress in the research of antioxidative mechanism of flavonoids extracted from Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi was summarized,which provides the theory basis to development new antioxidative traditional Chinese drugs.It was demonstrated by pharmacological experiments that Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi and its extracts exhibited significant antioxidative and free-radical scavenging activities in tissue injury-including cardiomyocytes injury,liver injury,brain injury and neurocytes injury.Scutellaria baicalensis will be exploited to new antioxidative traditional Chinese drugs,however,the detailed antioxidative mechanism in vivo would study in future.
