The Internalization and Intracellular Trafficking of ADCs

Internalization is thought to be an important process during the antibody-based therapeutics. As ADC internalizes, it is transported to lysosome for degradation and payload is released to target intracellular compartments to exert the anti-cancer effect. Considering that ADC takes effect intracellularly, the process of internalization and intracellular trafficking is thought to be crucial and need to be fully elucidated. Here, the internalization mechanism of ADC, including endocytosis pathways, intracellular processing and actions of ADC will be discussed.
