Objective One aim is to explore the incidence rate of overweight and obesity in adults and old people.Another aim is to research the correlation between the measurements of body mass index(BMI),waist-to-hip ratio(WHR),percent body fat(PBF) and the symptoms of overweight and obesity. Methods The body mass index(BMI),the body fat distribution and the proportion of belly fat of 111 adults and old people were tested by In Body3.0 human composition analysis instrument.(Results For) the male patients and the female patients,63.06% and 19.82% interviewers were overweight and obese, respectively. For the male patients and the female patients, the ratios of the interviewers whose WHR and PBF exceeded the normal indexes were 70.27% and 72.07%,respectively.The WHR of the male and female interviewers with different BMI and different ages had significant differences(P(0.01).) The PBF of the male patients with different BMI had significant differences((P0.05),) and the PBF of the female patients had significant differences(P0.01). The PBF of the male and female patients with various ages had significant differences(P0.05).Conclusions The increase of BMI results from the increase of fat, while the body fat mainly accumulates in the abdomen. The study suggests that overweight and obesity, inappropriate fat distribution and the high body fat content are serious issues of the adults and the old people.People should take measures to lose weight and solve a series of problems caused by overweight and obesity.
