TRANSPORTATION AND AIR POLLUTION: THE ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGES. IN: THE FULL COSTS AND BENEFITS OF TRANSPORTATION: CONTRIBUTIONS TO THEORY, METHOD AND MEASUREMENT

The paper examines estimates of the damages caused by air pollution emissions from transportation sources. A summary of dollar per gallon air pollution damage estimates from twenty studies is provided; then, new nationwide estimates of damages associated with air emissions are presented. Also identified are major issues in estimating health damages from air pollution.
