The integrated management effects of thinning to reduce the occupation for Cunninghamia lanceolata plantations were analyzed. The results showed that in case of not increasing the forest resources consumption, thinning to reduce the occupation could increase the volume outturn rate and the increased volume of timber was 2.354 7 m3·hm-2.There were better economic benefits, for deducting the investment cost, its gain could reach 1 177 RMB·hm-2.The same as traditional thinning, thinning to reduce the occupation also could promote the growth of remaining trees and was beneficial to foster the large and medium-sized diameter timber.Thinning to reduce the occupation compared to no thinning, the average DBH increment was 51.0%,and the difference was significant.t level, and the average high increment was 15.5% which was differences but not significant. It also could inhibit sprouting from the cut stakes and promoting the rotting of the cut stakes.Thinning to reduce the occupation could be popularized and applied in Cunninghamia lanceolata plantations.
