Erlotinib (tarceva) is a highly effective and specific, reversible tyrosine kinase inhibitors ( TKI)of epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR). By inhibiting the phosphorylation of EGFR ( HER1 ), erlo-tinib can inhibit downstream signed transduction and cell proliferation. Clinical studies have shown that erlotinib is quite effective for many solid tumors. Erlotinib-related skin rash is the common adverse effect, with a direct interference with the normal treatment and severe effect on the quality of life, even leading to the interruption of treatment. Therefore, effective assessment and treatment in patients with rash is positively significant.
