摘要
Electrochemical sensors play an important role in quantitative estimation of a variety of substrates with at most accuracy and precision. These sensors are believed to be quick and stable and grabbed market for their usefulness in determining blood glucose, urea and dopamine contents, which are significant to be monitored in people who are suffering from their variating concentrations. New developments in this field is still required as few of the sensors are unstable to change of electrolyte, pH, temperature, etc. Alongside, the mechanism of electrochemical sensors needs to be understood with detailed insights so as to improve their performance. In this view, we have gathered the literature available on the various mechanisms reported for electrochemical sensors, which serve as a roadmap for new sensor designs and developments.
