[Studies on the constituents of Aquilaria sinensis (Lour.) Gilg. I. Isolation and structure elucidation of two new sesquiterpenes, baimuxinic acid and baimuxinal].

Baimuxinic acid and baimuxinal, two new sesquiterpenes, were isolated from Aquilaria sinensis (Lour.) Gilg. through silica gel and alumina column chromatography. Based on spectra, preparation of derivatives and studies of. X-ray diffraction the structures of the two new sesquiterpenes were elucidated as (Ⅰ) and (Ⅱ)respectively. Agarospirol (Ⅲ) was also isolated.
