Application of ionic liquid in fuels desulfurization

The research progress in ionic liquids used in the fuels desulfurization technology for their industrialization were summarized.The direct extract desulphurization,the extract-oxidation desulphurization,the catalyzed oxidation desulphurization and the electrochemistry polymerization desulphurization technology were introduced.The catalyzed oxidation desulphurization technology has some advantages such as,mild reaction conditions,the short time,easy operation,easy separation,and has the good application prospect.The problems of ionic liquids that must be solved urgently in the industrialization were analyzed,and the future development of ionic liquids in cleaning technology were presented.
