In this research work, effects of interface properties on the adhesion of sandwich glasses were investigated. The factors of affecting surface energy of solid materials were discussed. A new testing method for measuring solid surface energy(SFE) by contact angle (θ) and a program to calculate by computer were given. For the sandwich glasses studied in this work, results showed that the matching of the corresponding polar parts of bonded interfaces played primary role in the adhesion strength. Moreover, for the adhesion based on non-chemical reaction, the author brought forward a nondestructive method to evaluate the adhesion strength for the materials with low SFE.
