In this study, in order to decrease weights of spur gears which are used power and motion transmission extensively, the holes have different profile (square, hexagon, circle, ellipse etc.) are designed on the gear body. Designed models of spur gear are drawn by using SolidsWorks package program that is a CAD (Computer Aided Design) program. Then their solid models are obtained and their strength behaviors are examined. During this examining, it is analyzed that the best suitable model is spur gear with gradual and circle hole. According to this result, it is examined stress analysis of this new designed gear and evaluated ability of load traction with decreasing of weight on spur gear.
