Protective effect of ligustrazine on bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis in rats

Objective:To observe the protective effect of ligustrazine on bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis in rats.Methods:Seventy two SD rats were divided into three groups:control group(n=24),ligustrazine group(n=24) and bleomycin group(n=24).By observing pathological changes of lung tissues after 7 days,14 days and 28 days,the effect of ligustrazine was investigated on the pulmonary fibrotic rats.Results:Major morphologic changes were that alveolar inflammation occurred in day 7 group and interstitial fibrosis occurred in day 14 and 28 groups.Conclusion:Ligustrazine plays an important role in treating pulmonary fibrosis due to its antioxidation.
