STUDY ON NUCLEATION ACTIVITY OF NUCLEATING AGENT FOR PP

The influences of content of nucleating agent on crystallization peak temperature, crystallization curve shape, crystallization onset temperature and crystallinity of co-polypropylene were studied in detail by means of DSC. The results show that crystallization onset temperature and crystallization peak temperature are increased 17 ℃~22 ℃ and 15 ℃~19 ℃ respectively with the content of nucleating agent increasing. It behaves the character of excellent efficient nucleating agent. But the crystallization curve shape becomes broad with the content of nucleating agent increasing and the crystallinity comes to an extremum when the content of nucleating agent is (0.2%). These differ from crystallization of i-PP by nucleating agent in general.
