Objective—To analyze intrinsically disordered proteins(IDPs)with the Benford's law. Methods—The first digital distribution of the length of intrinsically disordered protein(IDPs)in the well-defined protein science domain was investigated systematically and it was found that the length of intrinsically disordered proteins and disordered regions of intrinsically disordered proteins(i.e.intrinsically disordered regions, for short,IDRs)agreed excellently with the Benford's distribution, respectively. Results and Conclusion—Therefore intrinsically disordered protein can serve as an ideal assemblage for studying the first digital distributions of the data gotten from real world, and the observations can be used to constrain the behavior of intrinsically disordered proteins globally, which may provide useful information for developing more accurate predictor of IDPs.
