摘要
The output power and current density of electric motors are significantly constrained within a limited volume because of heat generation from internal losses. Effective water-cooled housing would address thermal limitations and improve power density; however, evaluating the heat dissipation capability of the system requires an appropriate thermal model. This study develops and experimentally validates a lumped parameter thermal network (LPTN) model for a permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) equipped with water-cooled housing. Key thermal parameters were determined based on the actual prototype specifications and experimental conditions, and thermal modeling was conducted accordingly. To minimize the influence of convective effects, a DC test was conducted. The thermal model was developed by calibrating only the effective thermal conductivity with in the stator slot, and its accuracy was validated through comparisons with the experimental results
