Global Reservoir Inventory of the post-2000 impoundment (GREI-p2k)

The global reservoir inventory of the post-2000 impoundment (GREI-p2k) contains 6,760 post-2000 reservoirs, with a total water area of 53,183.90 km2 and a total reservoir storage capacity of 1,287.69 km3, of which 139 reservoirs have a storage capacity greater than 1 km3, accounting for 69.45% of the total capacity. The attributes of all reservoirs include location information (longitude, latitude, and country), inundation area, and estimated storage capacity. Additionally, we compiled other significant attributes for reservoirs with a storage capacity greater than 1 km³ based on existing global reservoir datasets like GRanD and an extensive review of the literature. These attributes include the name, year of construction, primary uses, and recorded storage capacity of the reservoir.
