Leader Humble Behavior and Team Creativity: The Team Learning Perspective

Leader humble behavior and team creativity have gotten great attention from current scholars. However, few research has explored the relationship between leader humble behavior and team creativity. Drawing on social learning theory, the present study explored the effect of leader humble behavior on team creativity and proposed a team learning path. Analysis of lagged, multisource data of 310 employees in 77 teams showed that leader humble behavior is positively related to team learning behavior which in turn enhanced team creativity. Moreover, this influence would be strengthened when leader effectiveness is high. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.
