Surface engineering of linearly fused Au13 units using diphosphine and Cd doping

Herein, we report two new Au–Cd alloy nanoclusters, [Cd₂Au₁₇(S-c-C₆H₁₁)₁₂(DPPP)₂](BPh₄) and Cd₂Au₂₉(TBBT)₁₇(DPPF)₂, which exhibit icosahedron-based kernels coated with a homologous shell.
