The Analysis and Design of Permanent-Magnet Eddy Current Brake for EMALS

A permanent-magnet eddy current brake system was designed for the EMALS.The theoretical calculation expression of braking force was derived and validated by the finite element method.Besides,the permanent-magnet array was optimized in the basis of theoretical calculation expression and the finite element results,which can provide reference for the designing of permanent-magnet eddy current braking system.
