An empirical analysis on energy consumption and economic growth in Henan Province

Using the methods of co-integration analysis and Granger causality test, this paper researches on the relationship between Henan's GDP and energy consumption based on the data of 1980–2008. The empirical results show that there is a stable equilibrium relation between Henan's energy consumption and economic growth in the long run. The results also show that there is one-orientated causality from economic growth to energy consumption.
