The radio-communications industry, under an impressive pace of development, is at the same time the creator and the requestor of new technologies. Helical resonators offer a transitory solution, widely used between 50 and 150 MHz, where their quality/dimensions ratio is unequalled, and even at higher frequencies, towards 500 MHz, for solving drastic dimension problems. This chapter explains the functioning and structures of the helical resonators. It then discusses tapping and coupling in the helical resonators, and calculation of the quality coefficient of helical resonators. The chapter ends with a discussion on applications of the helical resonators. Controlled Vocabulary Terms radio communication equipment; resonator filters
