Studies on the Flame Retarding Effect of Triphenyl Phosphate Nanocomposite and Epoxy Resin Mixtures on the Polypropylene

In the paper,X-ray diffraction results revealed that triphenyl phosphate(TPP) nanocomposites were synthesized by intercalating TPP into the galleries of organically modified montmorillonite.Thermal gravimeteric analysis results illustrated nano TPP has higher evaporation temperature compared to TPP.A large increase in the limiting oxygen index(LOI) value were observed by adding nano TPP to PP. The LOI value with epoxy resin addition as flame co-retardants were investigated.The effect of additives on the mechanical properties were discussed.
