Expression of c-myc oncoprotein in bladder cancer

Purpose:To determine the clinical significance of the expression of c-myc oncoprotein in bladder transitional cell careinoma.Methods:Detection of c-myc oncoprotein with SP immunohistochemical technique were carried out for 50 surgical specimens of transitional bladder cancer,among which G 3 was 18,G 2 16,G 1 16.Results:c-myc oncoprotein expression of G 3,G 2,G 1 bladder cancer was 94.4 %, 75.0 %, 43.7 %(P 0.01 ) respectively.The lower the pathologic differentiation of the bladder cancer is,the higher the c-myc oncoprotein expression and the worse the clinical expect of patient.Conclusions:The expression of c-myc oncoprotein in bladder cancer has close correlation with recurrence and pathological grades.c-myc oncoprotein may be an excellent biological index of prognosis in bladder cancer.
