In this thesis, I describe main characteristics of embryonic stem cells and induced pluripotent cells. I describe main physiological, morphological and genetic characteristics of these cells. I also show differences between mouse and human embryonic stem cells. I study methods for induction of relatively recently discovered induced pluripotent cells. I mention a future potential of embryonic stem cells and induced pluripotent cells for their utilization in either clinical and laboratory routine. Their routine utilization depends mainly on the success of standardisation and optimalisation of the cultivation of these cells. For this reason, I try to review and to compare different ways of cultivation of embryonic stem cells and induced pluripotent cells with regard to their advantages and disadvantages.
