The Analysis of Aerodynamic Performance for Small H Type VAWT Based on Different Airfoils

Numerical calculation of the small H type Vertical Axis Wind Turbine(VAWT) transient flow field is carried out based on sliding mesh technique.Torque,power and power coefficient and their variation trendency is obtained for four kinds of NACA00XX series airfoils with different thickness.The thickness of the blade affecting the aerodynamic performance of the small H-type(VAWT) is particularly analyzed.Research proved airfoil thickness had large influence on small H-type(VAWT) aerodynamic parameter.It had an optimal airfoil among the same series of airfoils.
