Progress on animal model of bronchiolitis obliterans after lung transplantation

Lung transplantation has become an important means for patients with end-stage lung disease.Bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome(BOS) is a common complication of lung transplantation,the characteristic manifestation of BOS is bronchiolitis obliterans.The histopathology shows lymphocyte infiltration around bronchioles,which eventually leads to the formation of fibrous scar and bronchiolitis obliterans.Ideal animal model will facilitate to understand the pathogenesis of bronchiolitis obliterans after lung transplantation,and to improve the quality of life and survival of patients after lung transplant patients.This article reviews the establishment of animal model of bronchiolitis obliterans after lung transplantation.
