Nanoparticles have large surface area and present better physical and chemical properties. They are used as additives into plastics to get benefits for property improvement. Many ways are developed for nanoparticles and some are commercialized. Laser ablation uses pulse energy to bring out materials and form nanoparticle. Depending on target used, nanoparticles with versatile crystal phases can be prepared by adjusting the processing conditions. Spherical nanoparticle with diameter smaller than 50nm is prepared. Composition of nanoparticle is determined by target composition, reactive gas and laser energy. Silver coated titania powder through reduction of photocatalysis is prepared. This core-shell nanoparticle provides more function and potential application.
