With the development on genomics of Schistosma japonicum,the proteomics techniques such as two-dimensional electrophoresis,mass spectrometry and bioinformatic analysis have been applied to the studies of S.japonicum.The genome of an organism is comparatively constant,but the proteins express variously with different life stages and different environmental conditions.Studies on proteomics of S.japonicum contribute to uncover the mechanism of interaction between parasite and host,and find drug targets and vaccine candidates.The present article briefly reviewed the advances in the proteomics studies of S.japonicum,including differentially expressed proteins in schistosomulum,male and female,drug related proteomics research and immunoproteomics.
