Influence of "Jianpi Zhiyang Granule" on Thl/Th2 Cytokines in Patients with Atopic Dermatitis of Spleen-deficiency and Blood-dryness Syndrome

Objective: To study the influence of Jianpi Zhiyang Granule,a herbal formula,on Thl/Th2 cytokines in patients with atopic dermatitis(AD).Methods: Sixty patients with AD of spleen-deficiency and blood-dryness syndrome were randomized into two groups: treatment group in which 30 cases were treated with Jianpi Zhiyang Granule and control group in which 30 cases were treated with loratadine tablet,with a course of one month.Besides 20 healthy persons were enrolled as control.The serum Th1/Th2 cytokines were determined by Flowcytomix technology.Results: Compared with healthy people,the level of serum GM-CSF in AD patients were significantly decreased(P0.05);the levels of such Th1 cytokines as IL-1α,IL-2,IFN-γ and TNF-α were markedly declined(P0.05);while the contents of such Th2 cytokines as IL-4,IL-5,IL-6 and IL-10 were significantly increased(P0.05).After treatment,the levels of GM-CSF,IL-1α,IL-2,TNF-α and IFN-γ were increased in the two groups(P0.05),with higher level of IFN-γ in treatment group than in control group(P0.05);the contents of IL-4,IL-5,IL-6 and IL-10 were remarkably decreased in the two groups(P0.05),with more significant decrease in the content of IL-4 in treatment group than in control group(P0.05).Conclusion: Jianpi Zhiyang Granule can balance the Thl/Th2 cytokines to treat atopic dermatitis.
