The US is pivoting its security and defence focus from traditional threats in Asia, the Middle East and Europe to the Americas in a bid to reassert its hemispheric dominance. Yet this redirection risks underestimating the continued potential for instability in regions where the US maintains a strategic interest and, conversely, introducing further disruption within the Americas itself.
