Objective: To evaluate the association of serum lipids with renal function in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods:399 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Serum level of their lipids, blood sugar, urea nitrogen and serum creatinine were monitored and the results were compared. GFR was calculated by MDRD formula. Results: The levels of serum TG, VLDL-C were inversely related to GFR, while the levels of serum TC, LDL -C were related to the level of GFR. HDL -C was positively correlated with renal fuction.hs CRP was an independent risk factor of the function of kidney. Conclusion: Lipid metabolic disorder is a risk factor of diabetic nephropathy.
