Effects and Mechanism of Coptis and Ginger Berberine on Ethanol Induced Gastric Lesion in Rats

To study the protective effect of Coptis and ginger Berberine on ethanol induced gastric lesion in rats,and discuss the mech anism.Methods: Observing damage of Coptis and ginger Berberine ethanol induced gastric lesion in rats evaluated by calculating lesion indices;detecting malondialdehyde(MDA) and superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity in plasma and gastric mucosal.Result:The group of Coptis and ginger Berberine gained less gastric mucosal damage and could inhibit the increase of MDA in plasma and gastric mucosa and prevented lower of SOD.Conclusion: Ginger Berberine have obvious protective effect on ethanol induced gastric lesion in ratscom pared with Coptis,and its mechanism may be related to inhibition of MDA increased and the recovery of SOD activity plasma and gas tric mucosal.
