Progress in the catalysts for hydrogenolysis of glycerol to 1,2-propanediol and 1,3-propanediol

With the rapid development of the utilization for converting bioglycerol into valuable downstream chemicals,glycerol hydrogenolysis has become a research hotspot. Hydrogenolysis catalysts are the key techniques of glycerol hydrogenolysis processes. The research advance in the catalysts for glycerol hydrogenolysis to 1,2-propanediol and 1,3-propanediol was reviewed. The prospect of commercial application of the catalysts in the future were outlined via analysis of their composition and application.
