A multiple-electrode capacitive level transducer is immersed in a container with multi-component (liquid,) different output voltages corresponding to the permittivities of different materials can be produced. The output voltages from neighbouring electrodes can be normalized by difference calculation so that the interface (levels) in the container can be determined accurately. This transducer has advantage of no-moving parts, simple to use, long life time, wide temperature and pressure ranges and minimum maintenance, etc. It can be used in the oil and chemical industries.
